@_anonymous_ray/TikTok CDC/UnsplashTikTok user @_anonymous_ray shared his theory about missing scientists, including Joshua LeBlanc.

In April 2026, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced it would launch an investigation into the deaths or disappearances of 12 scientists.

According to Independent, 12 prominent American scientists have either died or gone missing since 2022. Moreover, all of these scientists seem to be connected to nuclear or space programs. Apparently, some of these programs are classified.

In an era where conspiracy theories are everywhere, it's not surprising that this story has ignited many online theorists. Now, one man is sharing his theory, suggesting that this situation has led to some consequences.

What Is Happening with the Missing Scientists?

In a video with over 34,000 views, TikTok user @_anonymous_ray states that recent years have caused him to question many mainstream news stories and the official narratives surrounding them. This alleged scientist case makes him even more skeptical.

“Joshua LeBlanc was a nuclear engineer working on advanced space propulsion systems,” says @_anonymous_ray. “The morning before his death, he left his phone and wallet at home, okay? He took his little Tesla key card and drove all the way to Huntsville Airport in Alabama, where he sat for four hours. Got it?”

“After that, he got back on the Alabama road and crashed into a tree, where his Tesla exploded and caused a massive fire, rendering his body completely unrecognizable,” he continues.

This situation led @_anonymous_ray to formulate the theory that LeBlanc is actually still alive and secretly working for the government.

In the following days, @_anonymous_ray stated that publishing this theory led to strange occurrences in his life, including his phone malfunctioning and his car breaking down. These events make him think his theory is “very close to being true.”

What Happened to Joshua LeBlanc?

The story of Joshua LeBlanc resembles the first part of the TikTok user's description. On July 22, 2025, LeBlanc left his home without taking his phone, wallet, or dog.

Joshua LeBlanc/LinkedInJoshua LeBlanc was working as an electrical engineer at NASA and died in a Tesla accident on July 22, 2025.

LeBlanc then went to the airport. His car remained parked at this location for four hours. His family noted that he showed no signs of travel before this incident and did not communicate that day, which was abnormal.

After a while, his Tesla veered off the road and crashed. The resulting fire was so intense that it rendered LeBlanc unrecognizable; his body was only identified by a forensic lab days later.

What Does the FBI Investigation Mean?

Some people may believe that when they see the FBI investigating a matter, it carries some validity.

In reality, an FBI investigation simply means an investigation. The inquiry may conclude with a finding of a connection between the deaths of these scientists or end with a statement that there is no connection at all.

According to the FBI's website, the agency is conducting an investigation solely to determine “whether a federal crime has been committed and, if so, by whom.”

These investigations often lead to the debunking of more exaggerated, sensational details of a story. Sometimes this can be serious: When Horizon Air baggage handler Richard Russell hijacked a passenger plane for a joyride, there was speculation that the incident was planned with an accomplice. An FBI investigation proved that Russell acted alone.

Sometimes, these “debunkings” can be humorous. For example, the FBI once tested a piece of wool that was claimed to be from a sasquatch; it turned out to be just deer wool.

Is There Any Explanation?

Cases like Joshua LeBlanc's may appear suspicious. In this case, the LeBlanc family suspects that there may have been an abduction involved in his disappearance and death.

However, it should be noted that the nature of his body being rendered unrecognizable due to the accident is not inherently suspicious. This is because his vehicle was an electric car, especially a Tesla. In a fire, electric vehicles with lithium-ion batteries can reignite repeatedly. This can cause a fire to last longer than it would with a gasoline vehicle. Additionally, electric vehicles often burn hotter than gasoline vehicles.

These factors can lead to someone becoming unrecognizable in the event of an accident.

In terms of other cases, it should also be noted that family members of other missing or deceased scientists have claimed that there is no conspiracy behind their deaths.

FBI Director Kash Patel reported that a final report on the matter will be released soon. In the meantime, investigations from CBS News, LA Times, and other outlets found no evidence of a connection between the deaths.
